About This Chapter
The "natural killer" cell patrols the entire body and attacks "cancer and virus-infected cells on sight" . It squeezes memory, squeezes the memory of other cells, and prepares to attack again in case of the same enemy reappears. The "regula-wcrumble" cell is born to only kill others, but it can't live for others, so it can only live by killing others. It's like a "brat," the narrator tells us. He tells us that he's always been like this, unable to feed on victory, or rise above defeat. The narrator says that the fight is futile. He says that harmful bacteria like escherichiacoli, staphococcus, and Clostridium can break down proteins, making them harmful byproducts. He's thinking of how to "most artistically torture" the cell in the "name of evil." The narrator is happy that there are so many more harmful bacteria in the body, and he says that victory achieved with them is the "highest aesthetic for us numbers." He tells the narrator to "wipe ah ha" and to be friends with all of them. He asks the narrator why he won't fight him because he likes his "contradic tions." He says he hates memory and guts, and that he wants to "kill a friend." He asks if the narrator has an "ultimate secret technique" , and the narrator says he does. He explains that with the shift of the intestinal environment, there is less of the "toxicants" from the "bad bacteria" that were giving him strength . He also says that he has seen the world where he lives, and now he can see that the "cancer cell" has been defeated.
