About This Chapter
The next day, the two of them take a test together. They're not in the same high school class anymore, but they're still friends. They haven't changed a bit, though. They still have a crush on each other, though, and they've both changed a lot since the day they took the test. The narrator tells us that he thinks the two are "logically as living beings rather than as human beings" , and that the narrator's crush is "one of your weaknesses" . He also says that Shimada doesn't seem to pay much attention to the "complexity of human romance," and that if Shimada stays away from the two, Shimada's "safer" if the two don't get along. Shimada isn't the only one who's worried about his crush, though: the narrator says that he's had a headache, and he'd like to be careful walking alone in the dark. He's also worried about killing people if he sees them.
