About This Chapter
Back at home, i.zumi asks if she can borrow some books from the library to study for her exam. She says she's just trying to memorize things. She's worried that the parasite on her right hand will be smarter than her, and she wonders why they don't have water to drink. She also worries that the parasites have no appetite because they get their nutrients from her blood, which is the only food they have. She wonders if they would have killed her if they had taken her brain, and wonders if the evening news would have been about the mince meat mangled bodies they left behind. She thinks that they have to do something about it, like bug spray or bug-spraying, because people have started to think that they're serial killers or animals. They've also got to find a way to get rid of her, because she'll never be able to get over her spoiled childhood. Back at the library, she wonders if there's something weird going on down the street. She swears she heard something, but she can't figure out what it is. She and her friend are walking down the same pedestrian mall, and they can see each other, but they've been unable to find each other. They have to split up their classes, so they'll be teaching in different parts of the building.
