The narrator wakes up to find his mark on him. He's reading a novel. The narrator thinks that if he were his wife, he wouldn't tell her that he's an agent of the enemy country. But if it were him, he would confront her and protect her better. He sends a message to parents of babies who need a physical exam the next day.
