About This Chapter
After the party, the narrator cleans up his mark. He tells us that the party was a "fruitful harvest" for him, and that he's glad that he was able to make new friends at the party. He also says that after the incident, he left school and went to live with his grandmother in France for seven years. The only thing left of her is her cat, which she raised with her grandmother. The narrator says that every time he talks about his childhood, he feels the need to tell the story of the "person" who "got hurt" because he "protected" him. He says that's what they defined their relationship after hearing the story, but that he doesn't know him personally.
