About This Chapter
In this short scene, Ruan tells the doctor about his plan to poison A'cheng. The doctor is surprised to see that Ruan is dressed like a beggar. He asks Ruan if he needs help, and Ruan replies that he doesn't have any food on him. When the doctor asks where he found the bun, the beggar replies that there is no food in the town, so they should give it to the beggar first. The beggar asks if the doctor has forgotten that day when he carried his child to the doctor's office for medical help, but the doctor was too stupid to realize that the child had a fever and should have been kept in the cold for a while. As a result, the child's fever got worse, which almost permanently damaged his brain. Ruan asks the doctor to open the door so that he can save his pupil, and the doctor responds that he must have an ulterior motive for killing the child. When Ruan hears that the doctor finally called him master, he is happy to hear it, and he asks why he has to call him that many times. When he hears that his pupil is a kid too, he calls him master again, and when the doctor closes the door, he leaves a bag of poison on the doorstep. He tells Ruan that he did not have a choice, and that the bandits who robbed the pharmacy were black fire marks on their faces
