About This Chapter
When the master asks why he is dressed the way he is, the bandit says that he looks more mature. The master asks when he bought the red robe he is wearing, and the doctor replies that he bought it many years ago, when it looked kind of cheap. He tells the master that his reputation as a quack doctor has spread all over the land, and that he does not think there would be any girls who would choose him anymore. He apologizes for getting sick on the horse ride, and he forgives the master. A'tang tells the story of how he used to be teased by girls for his stutter, but when he began to speak more fluently, the girls stopped coming to tease him. He began to earn money by selling rouge, and a'tang promises to reward him with a kiss.
