About This Chapter
In this chapter, Ruan-Tung tries to get the young man to apologize to him. He tells him that he wants to inherit the business, but that he also wants to keep him alive until he apologizes. He says that he caught a cold and needs to go to the pharmacy to get medicine for it. He wants to know if his brother, A'cheng, is there, too. The young man says that if he were there, he would definitely give him a "black eye or two" . The owner of the shop says that they've finally had a customer. He's made a new batch of booze and braised beef. He asks the customer if he'd like to taste it. The man says he doesn't have any money, so they're going to make him some braised beef instead. The customer asks if he can have some of the "ruan-tang's quotations," which he's written for the customer. The guy says he'll pay back any person who offends him if they don't do anything to offend him.
