About This Chapter
Sob, sob. Sob. She's not going to marry anyone who doesn't have a dad. She won't marry anyone that's even half her age, because she's going to become stronger and better than anyone else, and she'll protect her son from all the bad things that can happen in the world. She tells her son that he's a smart kid who can solve all kinds of problems at an early age. She asks her son if it's enough that they're playing together, and even if they ask him to play with them, he'll definitely refuse. She promises to move into their new house after she finishes with her shop, and they'll meet up with the neighbors later that day. They'll greet the neighbors, and then they can settle down in their new home. The narrator tells us that this is Aunt Si and her son, Si nan, who just moved into the next-door neighbor's house, and that little Xingxing is the same age as his little brother. He's already five, and he'd like to know if there's anything wrong with him playing with these things. He says that he feels like a kid when he hears the sound of the breeze and sees that spring is already here. That's when he realizes that they should play together.
