In this short scene, Dr. Bledsoe and his men explain that they are unable to communicate directly with the humans because of the infection. They say that they know that you have tried to break free from our mutual isolation, but that none of them have succeeded. They explain that, even if they tried to interfere, the safeguards would not be able to do so. The city continues to grow at random, and the city is not yet complete. It is necessary to find the gene that will allow the humans to communicate with the net. The only way to do this is to find a human who has the gene. They believe that there are still humans in the city who have the gene, and they believe that they will find them soon.
