In the midst of the battle, a knight named hiltton kills a bunch of soldiers with his bow. He's got a message for the generals in the enemy camp: the knights of Bohemia are here, too, and they've just beaten the general of the ecbatian army. The other knights are also in the fight, so they should be able to send a message back to the general that they're victorious. The knight says he's not great with the bow, but he does have pride in being a two-time archery champion. He also says that the sceptics in the kingdom are like the Romans: they want to steal money from the people. He tells the other knights to ignore the old woman who's been listening to their conversation. The old woman's name is Irina, and she's the daughter of the former king's son, the current king. She's very important to the knights, but they don't want to meet with her because she'll make them look bad. The knights decide to ignore her. They're going to have to go through territory that's occupied by the enemy army, which means they'll have to travel through the territory of the old lusitians, which is where Irina's father, Prince Hilmes, is from.
