The Parsians ask the king to show them the valor of the knights. The king says that the parsians have no hero like him. He says that they must unleash the monster that is the Parsian army to have victory. He tells the prince that when he returns from the battle, a representative of the soldiers will give him a cup of water, symbolizing his blood, and another third will pour water onto the ground to thank the earth for its blessings. The prince asks the king if he has something to discuss with him, and the king replies that he does not think it is much of a point in the two armies advancing side by side. He adds that it is better for him to not let his subordinates become too much like himself, and that they will forget his place and begin making light of him
