In this chapter, Tommo and the other players talk about how much they love each other and how much fun it is to be a part of a team. Tommo says that he's not going to be around to watch them grow, but he'll be there to cheer them on in the future. He tells them that they've only got three years together, so they're only getting started. They're not persistent enough, he says, and that's why they lost today. He apologizes for being so harsh on them, and says they'll get back to winning next year. He also says that if they thought he was hard on them this week, they haven't seen anything yet. He says they won't stop fighting for a long, long time, and if they lost, maybe it was because they didn't play as well as they'd like. He's happy that they gave him the ball, and he wants to try harder next season.
