In the second half of the second game, the Welshmen continue to dominate the game, and the captain of the Welsh team, Shallow, tries to stop them. He tells the captain that he's going to take Shallow down and drag him through the mud to the other side of the pitch, where the other Welshmen don't have to fight. Shallow says that he wants to show Shallow how smart he is, so he'll wash his face and show him how cool he is. He's so disgusted by Shallow's behavior that he gives up on the captaincy. He says that Shallow is a "worthless captain" , and that he has to fight for his team.
