About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that the ten remaining ninja of the clan of kouga were killed in the battle, and that the remaining ten warriors of the tribe of iga were killed as well. Hanzo hattori wants to make sure that everyone knows that he did not play any part in the final outcome of the battle. He wants to show his son-in-law the final results of the fight with his own eyes, so that he will be able to tell if he was right or wrong. He also wants to see the last remaining ninja, who has been wounded by one of the other clan's warriors. He tells his son that it was his family that caused the bloody battle that destroyed the clan. He asks him if there is anything he can do for him, but he knows it is too late. He then asks him where his sword is, and he tells him to take it with him to the battle tonight. He says that he knows the two iga warriors are from the same clan, but that the other is already badly injured, and should not be cruel to him. He gives his son the sword and asks him to read the movements on his son's fingers. The father says he will try, and the son says that his father will try to read his father's movements. The battle is over, and now the remaining clan will rule the land for 1000 years.
