About This Chapter
In this short scene, the audience is introduced to a young man who is learning to shoot an archery bow. The young man, named Titan, is very excited to be learning from his teacher. He wants to be able to demonstrate his archery skills to his father in front of him. He also wants to show his father how much he has learned in the past few years. He tells Titan that if he gets too rusty on the bow, he'll be unable to shoot at his father's house. Titan agrees to teach him how to shoot the bow if he removes the arrows from the ground and brings them back to him. When Titan asks if he can see anything at the target, the young man replies that he doesn't. Titan promises to get the arrows back for him if Titan removes them and returns them. Titan asks him if he's wearing his top inside out. Titan says that's fine. He'll let the teacher teach him for that. Titan tells him that the teacher is teaching him to squeeze his hand toward the target. He says that he used to be a hunter in the mountains and that he likes the smell of the bow. Titan wants to watch him squeeze the bow and show him how good he is at it. He explains that he learned how to farm vegetables in the mountain and that his archery skill is very good. He hopes that Titan will show him the skills he learned farming. He asks to be watched to swing his hoe later. Titan is impressed by how well he is doing at the game. He promises to practice every day.
