The chapter opens with Hirokazu playing the piano. He tells the audience that he has come to visit his friend Aono, who is staying with him in his apartment. He asks Aono to sit down and listen to his story. Aono tells him that he wants to be happy, but that he was worried about her because he had put her through so much. He also tells her that he had planned to die, but he had been so worried that he could not rest. He then asks her to let him in, but she refuses, saying that she is sad without him. She then tells Aono that she hates him because he left her behind without trusting her, without letting her say a word.
