About This Chapter
The cat's scent is faint, but it's also a hint of hallucinogens, which the cat suspects are catnip. The cat says he's not fooled by the scent, though, because his friend has helped him develop a tolerance. He says he must make the cats happy, even if he must deceive them, but the masses are powerless against authority, so he can still guide them in the right direction. That's how the people in power give the cats imaginary enemies, and direct them away from where they really should be, he says. The only difference between the two cat shows is that they both want to eliminate evil together, and build God's Paradise on earth. He tells the cat not to stand up, because sooner or later, the country will undergo a change, and the cats of the castle will be too powerful to resist. He reminds the cat that he came to kill him, and that if he dies, the authorities will not be able to charge him with any crimes. He adds that he was born into the flea bitten world, but he managed to crawl his way here, sure he was going to make his name for himself, but didn't do so well.
