This chapter's epigraph comes from a conversation between waka and the young lion. waka asks the lion if he's spineless, and the lion replies that he is. . The young lion tells waka that they came to the island for one reason, and that reason is that they want to spread the word that god is all powerful and absolute. The lion says that they must destroy all the heathen temples in order to build heaven on the island, but his father points out that they have only one god and that all who turn against him are evil. The father says that the lion is strong because of his faith in God, which is why he has decided to place him at the center of the upcoming battle.
