About This Chapter
Omike, the landlord, complains to his servant, the land lord, that he has not had a master for many years. The land lord owns the land because he wants to make sure that the rest of the peasants don't have to work for him. Omike says that his master is dead, and that he will use his bones to make medicine for his son. The landlord says that everyone blames him for their troubles, but he doesn't see that way. It's Omike who tells the landlord that he can't leave him because he's in love with him. He says that he'll present him to his son as an example of what's new, but that someone has to be made to be an example. The owner of the land tells Omike that he owes him a reward for helping him find his master. He also tells him that his brother, Samon, has another job for him and his servant. Samon is the brother of kata-hachi, and the whole town is trying to get Samon's master's money. He reminds Omike of a cat who was called "Nora Chiyo the god slayer mrowr" because he stomped the two attackers as one
