About This Chapter
In this chapter, hotaru describes the "ideal woman" as a woman who excels in her job, but who doesn't feel threatened by men. She spends her time at her favorite cafe, drinking herbal tea, and generally enjoying her life. She's not a total person, he says, but she's the epitome of the ideal woman. He says that when he's done with his job, he'll be back from London and they'll have a date to go to work together. They'll work on a renovation of a hotel building in Mejiro, which means that the two of them will be spending more time together than they used to. Hotaru says that he has nothing to worry about. He's just happy to be working, even if it means taking a break from his job. He tells us that he bought some sakura for everyone, and that he thinks they all look good, though they're using teak instead of bamboo. He asks if they should take a break, and she says yes. He then tells her that he'd like to talk to her about break, but that she is the kind of young man who can be troublesome. She tells him that she stopped by her boyfriend's studio the other day, and he collapsed. She asks if she could go to his room, but he didn't want to go, so she took a nap in his room. She says that she can't figure out how to get the perfect image out of her head, because she has something that no other woman can compare to. He loves her, she says, and what exactly does she have? She says she'll take a bath. She also says that whenever she has to start a new job, she always freaks out about how hotaru san is behaving. She feels like she might have said something to her that she shouldn't have said.
