About This Chapter
It's the culture festival at the school, and this is the first time that Shmoop has had to prep for it. He hates the festival because it's so boring, but he also hates the fact that he has to prepare for it because he's a famous artist. He's bummed out because he doesn't know what his class is doing at the festival, but then he realizes that the festival is like a "manga artist's" festival, where famous artists are invited to come and have their art exhibited. He asks his sensei to enter, but she's already there, so he can't help but feel sorry for her. Then he asks his students to make a four-panel manga with ketchup on their rice-oam omelet, and then he'll show them how to do it in their work-place workplace, which is basically like a publishing house for famous manga artists. He tells his students that the deadline for the magazine is today, so they'll have to wait until the next day to draw their pages. He also tells them that they've got to do the pages themselves, since they're not supposed to have them for delivery. He says that he is the express courier, which means that he delivers the magazines to famous artists' homes. He wants to know why famous artists aren't getting time off to do their art.
