About This Chapter
In this short scene, we learn that the vice-master of the guild has decided to play the role of a thief in order to gain some extra points in the game. The thief, however, is not so sure about his chances, and he decides to take the opportunity to test his abilities. He asks his friend if he is a good match for the thief, and the two of them begin to play. The first person to be knocked down is the loser, the second person to surrender all keys is the winner, and so on. The third person is the one who loves confident men like the thief. The two begin to banter, and when the thief notices that the lady is casting spells quickly, he realizes that she must have followed the path of the battle-mage. He is impressed by the speed with which she casts spells, but he is also impressed by her ability to manipulate all human beings. He tells his friend to put down all his weapons, because he wants to play with him.
