About This Chapter
The First Princess asks the First Duke why he is leaving. The First Duke tells her that he has always regarded her chambers as a "nest of scorpions" and that she would never dare to get close to him. He says that he just saw her in front of a mirror, and when she called him, he threw a knife at her. She says that if she accidentally stumbles upon something she shouldnt see and gets hurt, it will mean that she has failed her duty. She tells him that she is free to move anywhere in the estate, but that the front gates of the estate are guarded. She asks if he will allow her to go out to see the Duke, and he says that she must submit to the circumstances, and that sooner or later he will have the eunuch "pay me back" for this affront. He compares her beauty to that of a woman, and says that in his eyes, she is all as beautiful as women. He asks why there is no one around the estate today, and she says that there has been "major affairs" to deal with. He tells her to come back by noon. He will teach her archery and horse riding. He then asks her to tell him how she injured her arm. She blames the emperor for his unclean thoughts, and tells him to go back to the palace. She then asks him to tell her what she said to him
