About This Chapter
In this chapter, the dog warns the reader that she is happy to have settled down with her new family. She tells them that when she first fell in love with the editor of the newspaper, he told her that his father was a "family-oriented person" and that he would adore her if she met him. The dog then tells the reader to ignore the editor and to greet the father with a smile. She explains that since it is Mom's request that she meet the father, there is nothing she can do to change the father's opinion of her. She says that she understands how serious she can use the opportunity to raise her daughter's likeability towards her again, but she grabs the father and says that he looks like he is in a "super bad mood". The dog says that it looks like it will be long before she can break free of being for the father to say that he wants to be with her, and she is so glad that she swallowed her fears and did not want to hurt the father.
