About This Chapter
The next day, Dr. Rivers knocks on the door. He's really worried about what's going on with the doctor. He wants to know why he's so worried. He says that he wants to see patients again, and wants to make sure that they're happy. He also wants to talk to the head of the hospital about how to make things better. He tells Rivers that he doesn't care what people think of him, but that he has to be honest. He admits that he didn't really care about what people thought of him before, but now that he looks at what happened, he realizes that he can't help but feel bad. He decides to talk with the hospital's director and see if there's anything he can do to make the situation less bad for him. Rivers says that his current situation is "passive," but that's because the doctor intentionally provokes him. He thinks that the doctor is testing him out, and that if the doctor wanted to corner him, it could be done. But the doctor didn' t do anything about it, so it's not like he can change the situation. Rivers leaves to go to his uncle's house.
