About This Chapter
The next morning, Dr. Rivers is playing chess with his son. He's worried that he'll be late for work the next day, so he asks his son if it's okay if he leaves the two of them for a couple of days so that he can catch a nap. He tells his son that he still has his hands, and that's all he needs to do. He also says that he hopes that his patients' family members don't push him, because that'll make them feel better. He says he's going to be a bridesmaid for his son's upcoming wedding, which is to take place in a few days. He asks if she's badly injured, and she says she is. She tells him that she thinks it was a coincidence that a family member pushed her today, and he says she'll have to prepare to be his bridesmaid. She says that the professors at her school wouldn't do such a thing, but he says he hopes she gets better before the wedding day. He goes on to say that if she doesn't get better soon, he won't allow her to go back to work. He then tells her to get a good night's sleep.
