In this chapter, Bi-Wen explains that he is a sprite, too, and that he and the other humans in the village do not like each other. He tells the other sprites not to worry, because he will not let them leave him. He says that he has two empty rooms for them to hide in, so that they will not be disturbed when humans enter. He then tells the others to follow him, as the villagers do not want to see humans in their homes.
