In this short scene, we learn that Park Eung's father, Park Sung-nam, is dead. He is buried in a pauper's grave in a small town in northern South Korea. He was killed in the line of duty while serving in the army, and his body was taken to the morgue, where it was discovered that he had been killed by a man who mistook him for a spy. The man, who was later identified as Park Seong-woo, is now the father of Park Seung-nam's younger brother, Park Ki-nam.
