About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that Aoyama has found out about Nemo's disappearance and that Nemo will be returning to the Galapagos Islands. In order to find Nemo, the narrator pretends to be a Scottish woman who watches over him from above. The narrator tells us that he has made a charm for Nemo that he can't bring himself to wear. The charm is made of a piece of cloth that covers an oil-contaminated seabird. It revives when it's touched, but it contains only one percent pure mew aqua. Nemo tells the narrator that this is a good thing because it will cheer him up. He also tells her that he's not worried about Nemo, because he hasn't had enough sleep. He's worried about his friends, because they beat him up all the time. He doesn't want to let them worry about him, so he drinks a sports drink. It's a drink that's supposed to cheer you up, but when it gets to the point where it starts to smack smack, it turns out that the drink is actually made of an enzyme that kills people when they touch it. Nemo says that he needs to transform in order to be with Nemo, but he'll have to wait until the next time he sees Nemo to do it.
