About This Chapter
In this short scene, the pro of the British Open, who has just won the masters tournament in Japan, apologizes to the young man who has been invited to the tournament. The young man, who goes by the name of Takeru, is shocked to learn that his ball has fallen out of its socket and landed in the trees. The pro apologizes, saying that he has no motor skills and that he does not want his young wife to see him "looking the fool." The pro, however, is not deterred. He says that he will respect the wishes of the other man and start his own round after the pro's. The other man, whom the pro calls "Kuchiki," is surprised to hear that the pro has come to play with him. He asks the pro if he has seen the other men on the show, and the pro replies that he feels like he has. He then asks if the pro is playing with another man. The man, whose name is Arisaka, tells the pro that he is a reporter for a local newspaper. He invites the pro to come along and play golf with him in his father's house. The two men agree to play golf together.
