About This Chapter
The next morning, Dr. Manette finds a note on the roof that says something like, "I wonder why you changed your face. Is this punishment for having tried to change it?" He realizes that he's been wrong, and he decides to take action. He searches her room and finds only one coat hanging with a top button. He wonders if it's because she forgot to change her coat, or if she just forgot to put on her coat. He also wonders if the cat found his candy and put it in her pocket. He's not sure if it was the coat button or the cat, but he does know that it says, "Help your self" . He doesn't know what else to say, so he leaves the room and goes back to his office. He asks Dr Manette if there was a struggle between her and the cat. He says there was no struggle, and that she probably died around "ooohhh" , which is the exact time he was supposed to be interviewed for a magazine article. He still hasn't found any evidence of suicide, and is still trying to figure out what happened to his patient.
