It's the day before they're supposed to go on a road trip with their friends, and the narrator has to practice driving. He's already got a driver's license, but he wants to learn how to drive so he can take turns with his friends. He asks the driver if he's going to drive, but the driver says he'd rather not, since he doesn't want to be seen driving someone else's car. The narrator asks if they'll be okay, and then the driver blinks. They're about to change lanes when a car comes up, and suddenly the narrator realizes that they've ended up in the wrong place. He curses the driver for not being honest with him. The driver claps and says he did a good job with parking, and that's what makes the narrator curse him even more. He wants to be his driver for life, and now he feels suffocated by the driver. He begs the driver to drive him home, and he does.
