The monk apologizes to the young man for teasing him. He tells him that those from his village are "true warriors" and that no one would steal or snatch from them. The monk also tells the boy that he heard about the attack on his village by the bandit of the mount qi, and that none survived. The young man asks the monk if he is really one of the "purgers" of the bandits, and the monk replies that he was not finished yet and that he looked at the shabby clothes of the boy. He says that he observed the boy flying into a rage, and it is clear that he has reached the "foundation establishment." The monk says that the boy's father asked him to bring him back to the city, but that he is afraid that something will go wrong before he returns.
