The next morning, Twerp and Jarndyce try to wake up the elf, but it's too late. They're not ready to go to school yet, so they just sit around and wait for the alarm to wake them up. Twirp says he's fine, and Jarred is doing fine, too. Thackeray is a big fan of this kind of thing, so he'll be glad to hear that Jarred's doing well. He's just not the same as Jarred, and he can't stand the thought of Jarred being in danger again. He says he doesn't want to help them, because they're so useless to him and his friends. He tells them to get some food for the elf so that he can eat it when he gets back to his room. He also tells them that they'll have to find a place to clean up after him, because he won't be able to do that again. The elf will need food, he says, if he wants his strength back.
